Baby mooning and How

If you’re wondering what a babymoon means, it is a honeymoon but before the baby arrives. It gives time to the couple to pace themselves between the nervousness, excitement and running around for the baby. The vacation is a step back and also a celebration in honour of the new addition to the family.

It is a trend that is gaining attention rapidly, and rightly so; all mothers deserve some time to pamper themselves. A babymoon can also be a mom’s getaway with her friends, family, but it’s essentially the couple squeezing in some me-time before the chaos.

Here’s how you can babymoon and some important pointers that can help in planning the pre-baby vacation.

  • When to Do It

It is advised that the parents should wait till after 12 weeks, if you’re planning a long-haul flight or if the drive to your babymoon destination is quite long. If you plan to visit a local spa or resort, a visit before the 12-week scan is permittable.

Travelling in the third trimester is usually avoided as it is usually when the mother is likely to feel tired and uncomfortable. Plus, there is an added risk of the early delivery

  • Pay Heed to the Atmosphere

The last thing you want on your babymoon is that the atmosphere is stressful. Take into account the situation of the area you are visiting and stray away from anything that might worry or induce anxiety in the mother. A property that offers seclusion and to unwind would be a good direction to step in.

  • Get Moving

Although you’re on a vacation, ensure that you’re moving around. It is advised that the mother walks around for atleast 10 minutes, every hour. It helps in the body’s blood circulation. If your property has a beautiful beachfront, easy access to a hike, or even a picturesque scenery around, the walk in a different environment will do wonders for your mental and physical well-being.

  • Advice for Dads? We have some...

Your journey, as relaxing as it can seem, might be tiring for the mother. Swollen feet, fatigue or nausea, it’s all normal. Maybe book a prenatal massage, or give one yourself. A well-deserved date night will be a reward for you and your partner. To be honest, just make the most of this wonderful time!

Every pregnancy is different and every mother has a different experience. Do ensure that you have taken clearance from your consulting doctor and take a call for yourself.

Remember to enjoy, reflect and destress. Both you and your partner deserve this time, it will help you process the whole experience
