How to Be Stylishly Comfortable During Your Pregnancy

Pregnancy is the most beautiful experience in a woman's life. If so, the expecting mother deserves to look and feel beautiful. As the baby grows, the mother goes through numerous physical changes and the closeted treasure of loved clothes, will reduce in utility.

But that is not much of a concern. This new and wonderful phase in the mother's life also calls for some style rejuvenation! A style, both- comfortable and stylish to help you look and feel great.

Here are some clothing items that are a good investment, to ace your pregnancy style game;

  1. Maternity Pants

Maternity pants have been a mass-favourite. The waistline of the pair of jeans, can expand to fit the growing belly. You can pair this up with any top of your choice, kurtis for maximum comfort, or even a stolen shirt from your significant other’s closet.

They not only look great, but also help in providing support to the belly, that almost feels like a tight hug. Can these pants be used after the nine months? Of course! After the delivery, your stomach doesn’t bounce back to what it used to be and needs a little help. The waistband of the jeans, act like a maternity belly band that is great for post-partum. You can find these in leading clothing brands or even maternity boutiques.

  1. Maxi Dresses

Whether a brunch with your girls, lunch with your family or running simple errands, maxi dresses will never let you down. The statement piece yet simple flowy dress will guarantee you comfort and style. It's hassle-free, and many pregnant women swear on it being a boon. When you need frequent bathroom breaks, because of the fetus pushing on your bladder, you’ll thank the clothing gods for this invention.

Maxi dresses can be worn even after your pregnancy when you'll be running behind your toddler. They are widely available in every store; you need not visit maternity shops specifically. Getting them stitched is a valid option too, so you can alter them going forward.

  1. Overalls & Dungarees

Sporty, cute and trĂ©s modern! Dungarees and overalls are a must-have in your maternity closet. They are trending and incredibly practical. You can adjust these to your growing tummy, and you’ll be maxed out on comfort. They can be denim or cotton ones, there are a number of options available in the market. By pairing them up with t-shirts or shirts, you’re sure to make a style statement.

To find these, you won’t have to look too far; they are available in retail stores, maternity boutiques or even be tailor-made to your preferred style and material. After delivery, when you want to look good and feel comfortable, it will make for a go-to outfit.

  1. White Sneakers

When we talk about style, nothing gets a look together like good footwear. For pregnant mothers, it is essential to invest in footwear that will provide ample support to the feet. Sneakers is a genre of footwear, with which you can never go wrong. With any outfit, sneakers will fit right in and give you comfort and utility. White sneakers in specific are classic and trending too (we even bet that they won’t be going out of style any time soon).

Many brands even have stylish maternity footwear that may suit your choice, but you won’t have to look too far for these either. Make sure that they are comfortable, and most importantly, you love them.

Pregakem is a quick and easy-to-use pregnancy detection test kit. It allows to self-confirm pregnancy in just five minutes. Pregakem confirms pregnancy by detecting the presence of pregnancy hormone (hCG - human chorionic gonadotropin hormone) in the urine produced by body during pregnancy.

Fathers and Parenting: For New-Borns

The foundation of healthy parenting is when the mother and father contribute to it, equally.

Once the pregnancy test kit results into a positive, fathers may start to feel overwhelmed and nine months are not enough to prepare the father for how the future unfolds. Often and due to various reasons, fathers shy away from taking up baby care responsibilities or do not get time to spend time with their child, which potentially harms the father-child relationship in the future.

It is alright to feel lost, scared or disconnected with your child, but taking on the baby care duties is a bridge to building that bond.

Hence, we have illustrated a few ways how fathers can be hands-on:

  1. Daily Care & Tasks

To get more hands-on, you need to learn and contribute towards-dressing, settling, playing, bathing and nappy changing. These menial tasks not only help to build confidence, but also give you one-on-one time with the child. It provides for a building block towards a strong relationship with your child. Also, mom gets time to herself.

  1. Talk

Yes! Talk to your baby, just like you would talk to your partner or a friend, talking helps in the baby's comprehension and initiation towards learning the language. It also enables them to talk back, in whatever way they can, initially, that helps in developing their vocal cords. Whether the talks are, “Let’s clean you up”, “You need to sleep now, you're getting tired”, or reading books, singing songs or telling them a story- it is going to help strengthen the father-child bond.

  1. One-on-one Time

Apart from the daily tasks with your baby, ensure to give proper one-on-one time with your child. It helps in understanding your baby better and vice-versa. Meanwhile, the mother can meet her friends, go to a spa, sleep, whatever she wishes to do. It will make for a well-rested mother, and father-child bonding time. A win-win! Time flies, in the blink of an eye and these memories will stay ingrained and special to you always, so make sure you make the most of this one-on-one time.

  1. Ask for Help and Take Help

You need not feel awkward or petty when you ask for help. It is natural for you to feel frazzled while taking care of a baby. If your family or friends offer a helping hand, accept it if you need to. While fathers must be hands-on, they need to be relaxed enough to put that much energy. It can be as simple as asking your family or friends, who might be coming over to get extra diapers or bread, they would be more than happy to help.

  1. Mother-Father Relationship

While we talk about having equal parts in parenting, it is important to remember that you are partners in life and your child is the symbol of love. Making time for yourself and the mother is extremely important. Making time leads to having good communication, that leads to mutual understanding and comprehension. The erratic sleep schedules, soiled clothes, constant cleaning and sanitisation, and so much more- it can tire an individual. Some ways to feel special can be, a date night at home, or candlelight dinner at home or even a simple meal of devouring instant noodles in your balcony, may ease the process. Only healthy parents can nurture healthy babies.

Most importantly, fathers, enjoy the whole process! Words fall short to explain the beautiful journey of raising children, and though these instances might be similar to all parents, they are still intimate to every parent.
